History

Medfield Diagnostics AB was founded in 2005 by Mikael Persson and Andreas Fhager. Promising research of microwave technology at Chalmers University of Technology, division of Signal Processing and Biomedical Engineering, needed further development and commercialization.

Chairman of the board

Mats Andersson

Born: 1956
Education: Master (civilingenjör) in Engineering Physics, Licentiate in astronomy, Bachelor in English literature.
Experience: Mats Andersson has over 35 years of experience in international satellite and telecom industry. Mats has during 20 years held different engineer and leadership positions at Ericsson. He has previously held the role of CEO at Bluetest AB, a company performing tests for MIMO Over-The-Air (OTA), and the role of Site System Manager Radio Base Systems at Huawei Technologies Sweden AB. Mats has also formed the company MUMIMO AB, focusing on innovation och business development within 5G, satellite communication and other wireless technology.
Other current positions: Mats is currently the chairman of the board at Satcube AB and MUMIMO AB, as well as board member of Forsway Scandinavia AB, Wyld Networks AB, Brinja AB and Bluetest AB

Stefan Jacobsson

Has a strong business background and many years of financial experience as, among others, CFO at Vitrolife and founder of Biolin AB. Stefan presently holds the position as CEO at Jowa AB.

Björn Larsson

Björn Larsson is an experienced manager in management, marketing and business development, who has held various senior positions, most recently as CEO of Observe Medical ASA, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. He has extensive experience in medical technology previously from Dentsply, Medtronic and Mentice, as well as in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology at AstraZeneca and Novo Nordisk. He has extensive experience from commercializing life science startups, both in operational roles and in board assignments. Björn is currently chairman of the board of Alzinova AB, vice chairman of IML, and a board member of ADI Yoga AB. Björn is independent of the company and its major owners.

Göran Roos

Göran Roos is an internationally active industrial and scientific expert. He has worked as a consultant in more than 50 countries and held senior positions in European and US-based companies. He has been an advisor to the Ministries of Commerce in several states in Australia and has a number of academic engagements as a professor. He is a member of the board of the Global Center for Modern Aging, Adelaide, Australia, he is a member of the advisory board and co-opted to the board of Staccato Technologies AB, Stockholm, a member of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, ( IVA). Göran is independent of the company and its major owners.

Mikael Elam

Professor Mikael Elam has an extensive experience in leading clinical studies within autonomic neuroscience research.
He has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers.
Mikael is a deputy board member of Miumed AB.

CTO

Andreas Fhager

Co-founder and Associate Professor at Chalmers, Biomedical Electromagnetics and the leader of his research group. Andreas PhD thesis serves as the main foundation of Medfield’s technology. He serves as the Chief Technology Officer in charge of technical research with focus on algorithms.

Director of R&D

Harald Jacobsson

Has a PhD in Physics from Chalmers University of Technology. He has 19 years of experience in microwave technology R&D from Ericsson, holding various management as well as specialist positions. Harald joined Medfield as Director of R&D in September 2015.

Director of QA/RA

Jessica Ryler

M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Chalmers University of Technology. 7 years of experience within MedTech in quality assurance and regulatory affairs roles. Jessica joined Medfield Diagnostics in August 2022.

Director of Sales and Marketing

Jonas Liljedal

Jonas has over 15 years of experience from the Medtech industry in different business driving positions and has also a background as an ambulance nurse.
He will initially focus on sell activities where Medfield has relations with key persons in emergency-stroke care.
Jonas most recent previous role was in a similar position in the Medtech industry.
